The number of nCoV infections is increasing day by day around the world and travel between countries is seriously affected.
When Covid-19 first broke out, many countries imposed restrictions on people from China. Now, when there are some outbreaks outside of China, the restrictions have increased. Nearly 100 countries and territories recorded Covid-19, more than 102,000 people were infected, more than 3,400 died and more than 57,000 recovered.
All passengers entering Vietnam must declare mandatory medical from March 7. They have to respond in the past 14 days to which countries, territories and communications in Vietnam. Persons traveling from or through epidemic regions entering Vietnam will have to stay isolated for 14 days. 4 countries including China, Korea, Iran and Italy are considered as epidemic zones.
China recorded more than 80,000 cases, more than 3,000 died and about 55,000 recovered. According to the February 25 statistics of the US-based Council on External Relations Council, more than 80 countries and territories have banned or restricted entry from people from China.
Among those, countries that ban entry to and from China within 14 days include most of the Schengen Area (most EU countries), Australia, India, Iraq, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Malaysia. , Maldives, Mongolia, Philippines, New Zealand, Philippines, Russia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Turkey, USA, Korea (North Korea prohibits all foreign visitors), Jamaica, Afghanistan.
Vietnam stopped issuing tourist visas to Chinese nationals and stopped all flights to and from China. The Czech Republic and Italy also stopped all flights between China and these countries.
South Korea is the second largest outbreak after China, with more than 6,700 infected people, more than 40 people died and more than 130 people recovered. South Korea's Foreign Ministry said on March 6 that 102 countries and territories banned, restricted entry or imposed strict quarantine procedures on people from South Korea. Of these, 36 countries and territories, including Singapore and Hong Kong, imposed a 14-day ban on entry to people traveling to or from South Korea.
Six countries and territories imposed restrictions on entry for people from the epidemic center of Daegu and North Gyeongsang Province in South Korea, including Japan. Fifteen countries and territories are isolating people from Korea or other epidemic regions, including New Zealand, Belarus and Vietnam. As of March 5, more than 1,220 South Koreans, including 860 in China and 318 in Vietnam, were isolated around the world. Vietnam has stopped visa exemption for Korean nationals.
Forty-five countries and territories imposed tighter entry controls or recommended quarantine procedures for people who have recently arrived in Korea. For example, Burkina Faso in West Africa checks the temperature of all incoming passengers.
Iran is the largest outbreak in the Middle East, with nearly 5,000 people infected, more than 120 deaths and more than 900 recovering. According to statistics of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), more than 40 countries prohibited entry, restrict or tighten regulations for people traveling from or through Iran. The United States, Australia and Singapore prohibit entry with people traveling from or through Iran within 14 days.
Some neighboring countries such as Turkey, Pakistan or Iraq have closed the border. Germany and Azerbaijan prohibit citizens from coming to Iran.
Although Italy is the largest outbreak in Europe with nearly 5,000 people infected and nearly 200 deaths, EU countries do not close the border with Italy. "I believe any restrictions on cross-border travel are inappropriate, based on what we know about the epidemic at this time," said German Health Minister Jens Spahn.
Outside the EU, several countries and territories have banned entry from Italy, including Cook Islands, Fiji, India, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Mauritius, Mongolia, St Lucia, Seychelles and Turkey. Vietnam stopped visa-free for Italians.
Some EU countries have imposed restrictions, Romania has a two-week quarantine for people from the heart of Lombardy and Veneto. Hungary inspected vehicles on the border, saying it would quarantine suspected people but not specifically mention Italy. According to IATA, a total of more than 40 countries banned, imposed restrictions or tightened entry regulations for people traveling from or passing Italy.
The US has advised citizens to avoid unnecessary trips to the above outbreaks. Vietnam also recommends that citizens avoid the area where the disease is registered in these countries.
As of March 6, Vietnam recorded 17 cases and 16 people recovered. A number of countries have imposed prohibitions or restrictions on entry with people traveling from or passing Vietnam. Saudi Arabia stopped issuing tourist visas for Vietnamese people. Kiribati, a country in the central Pacific, and Cook Islands, a country in the South Pacific, prohibit entry to people who have been to Vietnam for 14 days.
Persons who travel from or through Vietnam within 14 days of entry into Bermuda, the British overseas territory, are isolated. Meanwhile, Greece and India have medical examinations for people traveling from or through Vietnam.
WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus called on countries to make efforts to combat the epidemic. "This is not a rehearsal, it is not a time to give up or justify. This is a time to go all out. Countries have been planning a scenario like this for decades. Now while implementing those plans, "Tedros said.
