Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms said that President Trump should stop talking about the protests that are happening in the US because he only made things worse.
"He should stop talking ... If he keeps talking, the situation will get worse. There are times when you just need to be quiet. I hope he stays quiet," Mayor Bottoms said May 31.
Trump yesterday posted a series of tweets praising the US Secret Service for protecting him safely inside the White House when protesters gathered outside, expressing anger and opposition after George Floyd's death
He also warned protesters because Floyd would meet "the fiercest dogs" if he attacked the White House protection fence.
Trump called Floyd's death a "tragedy", but argued that violent acts were the actions of "bandits, anarchists".
Protests with the slogan "I can't breathe" originating in Minneapolis are spreading throughout the United States.
Derek Chauvin, a police officer kneeling on the back of Floyd's neck, was charged with third-degree murder and manslaughter for carelessness.
