The United States secretly attacked the Iranian network, which allegedly launched rockets at two Saudi oil refineries, the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity.

Two unnamed officials revealed to Reuters on October 16 that the US secret cyber attack conducted in September could have damaged Iran's "propaganda" capacity.

When asked about this information, Iran immediately rejected it, claiming that the network attack from the US had never happened. "They must have dreamed that," Fars news agency quoted Mohammad-Javad Azari Jahromi, an Iranian government spokesman as of yesterday.

The Pentagon did not comment on the cyber attack, saying it was not allowed in principle to comment on "cyber attacks, intelligence, or planning."

Many missiles and drones hit September 14 at two Aramco oil production facilities in Abqaiq and Khurais, Saudi Arabia. Houthi rebels in Yemen have claimed responsibility for the attack, but the United States thinks Iran is the mastermind. Tehran countered, calling the US accusations "nonsense", in order to justify future actions against Tehran.
