Syria: The Su-35S squadron has taken off the Israeli fighters against T4 airport, causing the enemy aircraft to turn, according to Russia's Avia Pro.
"Russian fighters intercepted Israeli warplanes in the southern skies of Syria when they invaded the country's airspace to prepare for a strike on T4 military airport," Russian military aviation magazine Avia Pro said. news on 7/12, but did not indicate the time of the incident.
The Russian newspaper said two Su-35S multi-role fighters had previously launched from Hmeymim base and forced the Israeli fighter squadron to cancel the attack and retreat to the country.
"This is a pretty serious incident, but it ended before the unintended situation happened," the Syrian_MC account on Twitter, which specializes in the military situation in the Middle East country, said.
The military of Russia, Syria and Israel have not commented on this information.
Israel has carried out hundreds of air strikes against Iranian-backed forces in Syria to prevent Tehran from building a base and a permanent military presence in the area adjacent to the Golan Heights. Russia has often not deterred this activity, but has focused on supporting the Syrian government army to reclaim territory from the Islamic militants and rebels.
Russia decided to deploy Su-35S multi-role fighters to Hmeymim base in January 2016, after Turkey F-16 fighters shot down Russian Su-24 fighters in Syrian airspace. Su-35S squadrons appear to have at least twice prevented Israeli aircraft from attacking Syria in May and September.
