The Rayshards Brooks family first spoke out, saying they were heartbroken over racial injustice and called for a change in the Atlanta city police.

"We are tired and annoyed, our faith in the police force has been broken. Most importantly we are heartbroken and want justice for Rayshard Brooks. The only way to heal those wounds is a copy."

This is the first time family members have spoken since Rayshard Brooks, a 27-year-old black man, was shot dead by police outside a food restaurant on June 12.

A Fulton Office of Medical Examiner's report said Brooks died of organ damage and blood loss from two gunshot wounds.

The Brooks shootings occurred amid protests still taking place across the United States and many countries after the death of George Floyd, a 46-year-old black man killed by police in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on 25.
