Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir, 94, drove his wife by car during a weekend date around Kuala Lumpur today.

Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad, 94, posted on his personal Instagram account three photos and a video showing him driving a Proton carrying his wife, Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali, 93, hanging out around the capital.

"I sometimes date Hasmah in Kuala Lumpur," Mr. Mahathir wrote. The two also stopped for coffee at Jalan Bukit Bintang Road.

The post received over 55,000 likes and 2,000 comments from network users. They were impressed by the message of love from Prime Minister Mahathir and his wife, and wished his wife and him always good health.

"It's great, our Prime Minister can still drive. Hope the Prime Minister and his wife are always happy and healthy," commented miy.cjom. "It's sweet," Maradiana's account commented, while another said it was "a model of how to take care of his wife."

Mahathir first became prime minister in 1981 at the age of 56 and retired in 2003. In 2018, Mahathir returned to be the head of government and became the world's oldest incumbent prime minister.

Sharing about his healthy living experience at 94, Mahathir said he ate well, did not drink, did not smoke, walked and played rugby. He often drives visitors to Malaysia or rides with officials.
