Taiwan's government criticized the Philippines for restricting travel to island residents due to fear of the corona virus.
The Philippines on February 2 confirmed its travel ban for mainland Chinese citizens extended to Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau residents under the "One China" policy.
Taiwan's diplomatic agency today called the Philippines' decision "unilateral and wrong". "Confusing Taiwan with mainland China could cause problems for us and the international community," said Taiwanese diplomatic spokesman Joanne Ou.
China has always considered Taiwan a part of its territory waiting for reunification, including by force if necessary. According to Beijing, adopting a "one-country, two-regime" model similar to Hong Kong and Macau is the best way to protect the interests and interests of Taiwanese islanders.

Taiwan has confirmed it will continue to contact Manila to lift the travel restrictions. The island government earlier said it successfully persuaded a number of countries to lift a travel restriction on Taiwan residents.
Taiwan currently has 18 cases of nCoV infection, but the island authorities claim to have contained the outbreak and there have been no new cases in the community.
