The crew on board Azi Aslanov had 13 people when the accident, the authorities rescued 10 people and were looking for three missing sailors.

"The right side of the ship was badly damaged after the explosion, but the hole was above the draft. Water did not enter. The ship was tilted about 7-10 degrees and did not tilt any further," said a spokesman for the Transportation Administration

Spokesperson Rosmorrechflot said the rescue ship Alexander Sizontsev and the Impuls had arrived at the scene, and the rescue tug Mercury was on its way to rescue.

The cause of the explosion is under investigation.
