Princess Salma completed her training and became the first female pilot to fly a jet wing jet of the Jordanian army.
King Abdullah II wears the Jordan Air wing symbol on the uniform of Princess Salma Salma bint Abdullah at the ceremony on January 8 at Al Husseiniya Palace in Amman. Prince Hussein, Salma's brother, and senior Jordan Air commanders attended the ceremony.
"Brilliant and hard-working as always! Congratulations on the symbol of your wings, from which more successes will come," Prince Hussein, Salma's brother, wrote on Instagram.
According to the announcement of the royal Jordan, Princess Salma officially became a female military pilot after passing the air force theory and practice training. This 19-year-old girl is trained to operate a winged jet.
Princess Salma is the third son of King Jordan Abdullah II. Salma graduated from a short-term course at the Royal Sandhurst Royal Military Academy in November 2019, where King Abdullah II and Crown Prince Hussein and some of the royal family members Jordan attended.
Salma was not the first female pilot of the Jordan Army. Another female pilot, Aya Basheer Ibrahim Alsourany completed training in the US in 2018, but she was trained as a helicopter pilot.
