Abominable, a collaboration of American film studio DreamWorks Animation and Chinese company Pearl Studio, tells the story of a Chinese girl named Yi and two friends who help a snowman to reunite with their family at Mount Everest.

In the film, there are scenes of the map at Yi's house, supposedly drawing the "cow's tongue line", the unreasonable claim of China unilaterally claiming sovereignty over nearly the entire area of the South China Sea, despite the protest from the international community. Pearl Studio and Dreamworks have not yet commented on the incident.

Filipino Foreign Minister Teodoro Locsin said on October 16 that the "cow's tongue line" should be cut off from Abominable because it "displayed greater dissatisfaction than the film ban," and called for a boycott of all. Dreamworks products worldwide. Abominable has been discontinued in Vietnam since October 13.

Malaysia has repeatedly criticized China's illegal claim to the South China Sea, but has recently eased after Beijing invested billions of dollars in its infrastructure projects.

In an interview with Malaysia's parliament today, Malaysian Foreign Minister Saifuddin Abdullah said that Kuala Lumpur needs increased naval capacity to prepare for the risk of conflict in the South China Sea.
