Israel, Lebanon recorded the first case of corona virus infection, one returned from the Diamond Princess, one from Iran, bringing the number of countries and territories where nCoV appeared to 30.
Lebanese Health Minister Hammad Hassan said at a press conference today that a 45-year-old female patient, who had just returned from Qom City in Iran, had become the first positive case for nCoV in the country. Hassan added that there are still two suspected cases of corona virus in Lebanon, but the test results are yet to be found.
Lebanon's Ministry of Health has declared that all return visitors from Iran must be isolated at home for at least 14 days. Iran today announced two more deaths from nCoV among 13 new infections, bringing the number of deaths to 4 and the number of cases to 18.
The Israeli Ministry of Health issued a statement this morning confirming the first case of corona virus infection in the country was a woman who had just been evacuated from Diamond Princess yacht in Japan. Another 10 passengers brought back to Israel had negative test results with nCoV.
All passengers are currently isolated at Sheba Medical Center near Tel Aviv. Everyone is required to stay in the hospital for 14 days. Four other Israeli citizens on Diamond Princess have been confirmed to be infected with corona virus and are currently in Japan.
With the two newly recognized cases of nCoV, the outbreak of pneumonia from Wuhan has now reached 30 countries and territories, with more than 76,000 cases, 2,250 deaths, mostly in China. .
