British Foreign Minister Raab accused China, Russia and Iran of trying to exploit weaknesses caused by the global Covid-19 pandemic.
In an interview with Sky News on June 18, British Foreign Minister Dominic Raab said governments in China, Russia and Iran are taking advantage of the challenges posed by the global pandemic to "distract attention".
"We are certain that Russia is participating systematically in false communication and propaganda, via the Internet and other forms. Other countries are participating in the same way as China and Iran," Raab said.
However, Foreign Minister Raab denied that these actions had a significant impact on Britain, adding that they did not "make a big difference to our health response".
EU countries have accused the Russian media of falsely reporting on Covid-19, allegedly in line with a plan to "sow doubts and chaos, worsening the crisis".
Moscow immediately denied the charge, accusing the EU of "false information".
For China, the British Foreign Secretary doubted Beijing was using Covid-19 to promote Hong Kong security laws.
"I think we saw it related to Hong Kong, probably people are arguing about this, it's hard to know if it's right or wrong, that Chinese national security laws are being implemented at a time like that.
