Pakistani officials found both black boxes, including the flight data recorder and the cockpit recorder of the plane, which fell on May 22.
"The black box was found last night, we are handing it over to the investigation team," Pakistan International Airlines spokesman Abdullah Khan said today in Karachi.
The investigation team consists of three members of the Aviation Accident Investigation Board and one from the Pakistan Air Force's safety department.
The Airbus A320 bearing number PK8303 on May 22 crashed in Karachi while carrying 99 people.
Ministry of Health spokesman Meeran Yousuf said 66 bodies were being kept at the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center, Karachi's largest public hospital and 31 bodies were preserved at Karachi Civil Hospital.
Shortly before the accident, the pilot told air traffic controllers that he had lost control of both engines, according to a recording on Live ATC, the website that posted control radio conversations.
The incident occurred a few days after Pakistan resumed its commercial flights, after a downtime due to a restrictive order to prevent Covid-19.
