China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs on July 25 issued a statement opposing US officials breaking the course of entry into the country's Consulate General in Houston.
"Before the action from the US force to invade the Chinese Consulate General in Houston, China expressed dissatisfaction and uncompromising opposition," the statement from the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
The notice emphasized that the Houston consulate is Chinese property, so according to diplomatic treaties, US officials are not allowed to violate it.
US media earlier reported that after the Chinese Consulate General in Houston, Texas closed at 16:00 on 24/7, US law enforcement officers led by a person who may be a State Department official
They then hired locksmiths to break a door and go inside.
After the men went inside, two US State Department Security Department uniformed men went to guard outside the back door of the building.
After about two hours of ransacking inside the building, US government officials boarded a van and left, leaving Houston police and security forces to guard the scene.
The US on July 21 asked China to close its Houston consulate general for 72 hours.
Chinese officials demanded the closure of the US Consulate General in Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province, in response to the US closing the Consulate General in Houston, Texas.
