The National Health Commission of China recorded a total of 1,367 deaths and nearly 60,000 infections in the country's pneumonia epidemic.
The National Health Committee of China on Monday afternoon said the number of new deaths in the country is 254 and 15,152 new infections. Across China mainland 1,367 deaths, 59,805 infections and 6,002 were cured.
Normally, the National Health Commission publishes new data before 8 am per day (7 am Hanoi time). However, the committee announced the last two days later. Yesterday, the data was released about two hours later and today, the committee released the data in the afternoon.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry announced that no more foreign nationals in the country would be infected with the virus. Another foreign citizen was cured and discharged, bringing the total number of cured foreigners to 8 cases.
The Hubei Health Commission this morning announced a change in the new calculation method, bringing clinically diagnosed cases infected with the virus to the new case data. Accordingly, the province recorded 14,840 more positive cases of nCoV, bringing the total number of local cases to 48,206, nearly 10 times larger than the previous day. Another 242 deaths, two times higher than yesterday, brought the total number of deaths in Hubei to 1,310.
Worldwide, 1,369 people died from the epidemic, of which two cases were recorded outside of mainland China: a Wuhan man in the Philippines and a man in Hong Kong. 60,374 people were infected, 8,219 people were in critical condition and 6,079 people were cured.
A spokesman for the Shanghai Health Committee said at a news conference that the method of diagnosing people with the virus did not change in any Chinese province or city, except for Hubei.
