Canada wants Iran to answer many questions about the mistakenly shooting of the Ukrainian plane, saying that the Tehran report does not explain the reason why the missile fired.
"The preliminary report provides only limited and selective information about this tragedy. It tells what happened after the first missile hit the plane but does not clarify what happened after the result.
Two Canadian officials urged Iran to provide answers to important questions such as why the missile was launched and why Iran's airspace remained open at that time.
Iran's Civil Aviation Organization on August 23 released a report on the contents of the flight data record and the recording of the cockpit of the Ukrainian aircraft that was accidentally shot down by Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard on January 8.
"19 seconds after the first missile hit the plane, the pilot's voice in the cockpit shows that the passengers are alive. 25 seconds later, the second missile hit the plane," said the head of the cargo agency.
The Iranian official said that this was the reason "there was no data in the black box about the impact of the second bullet", and asserted that the flight crew had been trying to control the aircraft until the last moment.
Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) admitted mistakenly shooting flight PS752 of Ukraine International Airlines on January 8, shortly after the plane took off from Imam Khomeini airport in Tehran.
Iranian officials negotiated with Ukraine, Canada and other countries whose citizens died about compensation for the victim's family and demanded a thorough investigation of the crash.
According to regulations of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the black box of an aircraft will be analyzed in the country where the accident occurred.
