The Taiwan defense agency said 19 Chinese military aircraft, including fighters and bombers, approached the island for the second day in a row.
The Taiwanese defense agency said today that a group of Chinese military aircraft, with more than one aircraft compared to yesterday, was close to the island.
According to the agency, the aircraft group consists of 12 J-16 fighters, two J-10 fighters, two F-11 fighters, two H-6 bombers and one Y-8 submarine hunting aircraft.
"The ROCAF immediately dispatched fighter jets and deployed anti-aircraft missile systems to monitor activities," the Taiwan defense agency said, using the Taiwan Air Force's acronym.
In another statement, the agency accused China of carrying out provocative activities, seriously damaging peace and stability.
China sent fighter jets to overpower Taiwan when the US Vice Secretary of State in charge of economic affairs Keith Krach on September 17 visited the island for three days.
China on September 18 accused Taiwan and the US of colluding with each other.
China considers Taiwan part of the territory awaiting reunification and is ready to use force if necessary.
Beijing has held at least 11 drills since July, some of which feature real-time firing, in various waters including the East China Sea and South China Sea, as well as areas near the island of Taiwan.
