Sakurajima volcano in Kagoshima province, southwestern Japan, today erupting, causing the government to issue a warning of level 5.
The agency responded to the emergency situation and the local police said the volcanic stones had fallen into the location about 2.5 km from the mountain, but there was no report on human damage.

Sakurajima is one of the most active volcanoes in Japan and is connected to the Osumi peninsula on Kyushu Island southwest of the country.
