Biden became the first US president to recognize the killing of 1.5 million Armenians of the Ottoman Empire in 1915 as a genocide.
"Americans who celebrate all Armenians were killed in the genocide started 106 years ago," said US President Joe Biden at the White House on April 24.

"Languages cannot be changed or rewritten. We will not accept the lesson from anyone about our history," said Foreign Minister Turkey Mevlut Cavusoglu posted Twitter after Biden's statement.
