The Foreign Ministers of the EU agreed to stop the visa simplification agreement for Russian citizens, but did not apply the ban.
Officials in charge of foreign policy of the European Union (EU) Josep Borrell today announced that the foreign minister of member countries after the meeting in Prague agreed that the relationship of the bloc with Russia could not be as usual.
The EU countries have thus agreed to the agreement to create a visa for Russian citizens since 2007. Mr. Borrell said this will make Russian people more difficult and more time -consuming when applying for a visa to enter the EU.
The move will significantly reduce the number of new visas issued by EU countries, Mr. Borrell said.

Before some Eastern European countries urged a tougher move, EU officials added border countries with Russia could take national measures to limit entry into the EU.
On the eve of the meeting in Prague, Poland and three Baltic countries, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, said they were considering the ban on Russian citizens, if the EU block did not act the same.
In a joint statement after the meeting, the four countries said that the decision to suspend the agreement to create a visa for Russian citizens to the EU is the first step.
We need to drastically limit the number of visas issued to reduce Russian citizens to the EU and the Schengen area, claiming the paragraph, adding that it should still be an exception to those who oppose the Russian government as well as cases of multiplication.
Germany and France have previously issued a joint statement against the proposal of the Schengen Visa ban on Russian citizens, saying that the ban should be selectively applied instead of applying to the entire Russians.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister, who is also present in Prague to attend the meeting, criticizing the new EU's new move.
Europe faced many internal disagreements about Russian sanctions, which prevented them from gaining pressure on Moscow and hindered Ukrainian aid efforts.
The EU leaders warned that Russia will pay expensive if it attacks Ukraine, but Europe itself can be inspired by the sanctions.
