The number of people died by the 7.2-degree earthquake in Haiti last weekend increased to 1,941 and more than 9,900 people were injured, thousands of people lost their homes.

Haiti Civil Defense Agency on August 17 said more than 60,000 houses were destroyed and 76,000 houses were damaged in the earthquake on August 14, about 160 km from the capital of Port-au-Prince.
