The number of non-papers in the US-Mexico border increased by 70% in March, to 172,331 people, hitting the highest level in the last 15 years.
The US Department of Customs and Border Protection (CBP) today said the number of children without adults accompanied by CBP has doubled, to 18,663 children.
According to CBP, nearly 104,000 cross-border people are expelled, mainly return to Mexico, according to the Covid-19 translation room rule.

However, children with no adults accompanied with tens of thousands of migrants who migrate to the whole family and have a small child allowed to stay, posing a large political and social challenge for the preschool government
Most migrants come from Mexico and Central American countries like Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala and more and more people come in large groups.
"This is not new," Troy Miller, CBP official, said.
CBP predicts about 184,000 minors without accompanying people will cross the country in the fiscal year 2021. This number is twice higher than 76,020 young children finding their way into the US in the annual immigration crisis
CBP currently holds more than 5,000 migrant children, while the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) holds more than 11,000 children.
