Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, affirming that Vietnam always attaches great importance to a comprehensive strategic partnership with Russia.

At the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov at the Government headquarters on the afternoon of July 6, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that Mr. Lavrov's visit to Vietnam took place on the occasion of the two countries to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the relationship on war partners.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that Vietnam always attaches great importance to a comprehensive strategic partnership with Russia, desires to deepen and effectively cooperate bilateral cooperation in all fields.

The Prime Minister suggested that the ministries and branches of the two sides soon remove difficulties in the field of trade, investment and transportation, continuing to effectively take advantage of the free trade agreement between Vietnam and the Asian Economic Union.

Mr. Lavrov highly appreciated the position, role and contribution of Vietnam to peace, stability and cooperation in the region as well as in the world.

Earlier, the same day, the Russian Foreign Minister held talks with Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son.

Lavrov Foreign Minister highly appreciated Vietnam's role in the region and in ASEAN, believing that Vietnam will be an important bridge to help Russia further strengthen cooperation with the region, including promoting partnerships.

Minister Bui Thanh Son expressed his wish that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and relevant agencies of Russia will continue to facilitate the Vietnamese community to do business, live and study stably in this country.

Foreign Minister Lavrov visited Vietnam on July 5-6 at the invitation of Minister Bui Thanh Son.

Bilateral trade turnover in 2021 reached 7.1 billion USD.
