The European Meteorological Agency warns La Nina makes winter coming earlier, colder, and can worsen the energy crisis on the continent.

The European Medium -term Weather Forecast Center (ECMWF) on October 3 identified a early cold wave because the phenomenon of La Nina could appear in November and December, making the weather colder and drier.

He said that after 3-4 weeks, there will be more reliable data on weather conditions that affect this winter.

The agency said that due to war in Ukraine and the situation of lack of supply in Europe, the risk of gas deficiency may occur in the winter 2022-2023 in the UK.

Buontempo said that if the model forecasted accurately, the colder winter would increase the demand for gas in Europe, while the weather was quiet and dry, it would reduce the output of wind and hydroelectricity, contributing to the terrible.

However, Tom Morgin, expert of the British Meteorological Agency, admitted that La Nina is likely to happen in this winter, but added whether this makes the winter colder in the UK colder or not is still not sure.

Buontempo said that the higher sea temperature does not make Europe warmer if the wind changes, bringing colder air from Central Asia and Siberia to the continent.
