Cambodia Minister said that China helps modernize and expand REAM naval base, but not the only country approaching it.

In October 2020, Cambodia confirmed that they had flattened a small base built by the US at the Ream Navy base to upgrade the facility, but rejected the information that China would participate in it.

Cambodian Defense Minister Tea Banh today told the Fresh News portal that Cambodia asked China's help.
