Governor Phnom Penh Khuong Sreng appoints a number of villages and communes in three districts as the Red Region to implement the blockade command to prevent Covid-19 more effectively.

Khuong Sreng Governor of April 19 announced the designated area of the Red Region including Stung Meanchey I, II and III communes in Meanchey district, Choam Chao I commune in Por Senchey district and villages 14, 16 and 17

The decision was given only a few hours after Prime Minister Hun Sen adjusted the blockade order to the highest risks of spreading Covid-19.

People in the red region are prohibited from leaving home or performing any activities outside the place, including sports exercise.

Governor of Sreng said only essential enterprises are allowed to operate in the red region.

He also warned who was arrested for violating these measures to be temporarily seized and suffered legal actions.

Cambodia currently recorded more than 7,000 cases and 45 deaths caused by NCOV, while the situation continued to be complicated.

In order to respond to Covid-19, Cambodia has arranged thousands of beds at the wedding party centers in Phnom Penh.
