Biden announced that Russia would have to pay for the intervention in the US election and he agreed with the assessment that President Putin was "killer".
In an interview with ABC News broadcast on March 17, Biden was asked about an American intelligence report that Putin tried to harm his campaign in the race in the White House
"He will pay the price," Biden said.

When asked if he thought Putin, who was accused of poisoning political opponents, "killer" or not, Biden replied, "I have".
This spokesman shows a complete contrast between Biden with Trump, who often does not say negative things about Russian President.
However, Biden affirmed that there are areas where he and Putin mutually benefit when working together.

Stress between the two countries increased in recent months because of the allegations of network intrusion and Washington asked Russia to release the leader of Alexei Navalny opposition, who was in prison.
Navalny in August 2020 unconscious while on flight from Siberia to Moscow, was later taken to Berlin, Germany, to treat.
