The Chinese capital completed Covid-19 vaccination for nearly 91% of adults, in the context of the country to expand the national vaccination efforts.

The Beijing government today announced about 17.7 million people, equivalent to 90.8% of the mature population in Beijing, completing vaccination as of July 21.

According to the Beijing administration, the full vaccination for adults in other major Chinese cities also achieved significant steps, with the ratio in Shanghai and Wuhan, respectively 80% and 77%

China said the country was injected with 1.49 billion doses of Vaccine Covid-19 as of July 21, but did not disclose nationwide data on the number of people who were fully vaccinated.

The vaccination speed in China dropped to an average of about 11.8 million doses a day in July, compared with an average of nearly 20 million doses in June. The vaccination rate in some provinces is lower than the injection rate

Shanxi Province, northern China, said 46.7% of adults were injected with two doses of vaccines as of July 20.

Increased use of Tan, Vice Chairman of the Chinese National Health Commission (NHC), last month said that the country expects to vaccinate at least 70% of the designated target groups later this year.
