Jia Na, 24, tested positive for corona virus but cured at home through scientific activities and remained optimistic.
Jia Na is a nurse at the People's Hospital of Wuhan University. Everything happened to her on January 23 when Jia felt her limbs suddenly became weak. "At the time I thought I was wearing protective gear, but my colleague said we should have a CT scan," she told China Global TV Network.
Jia was surprised when the CT scan showed that she had viral pneumonia. The official diagnosis was made the day after the test confirmed that she was infected with the corona virus.
This result caused Jia to fall into fear and doubt. "I couldn't sleep that night. I kept thinking about how I was infected. I always believed in my immunity. I was really depressed and imagined I was going to die. I was scared." she said.
Things became more positive when Jia came to consult a doctor. The doctor assured her that her condition was not serious and could recover at home instead of being hospitalized.
For Jia, staying home is a no-brainer. "I have nobody at home and the hospital is short of bed. I want to reserve a bed for those who need it more," Jia explained.
Once safely isolated at home, she plans to fight the virus. Jia boosts immunity by providing proper nutrition, eating on time and getting enough rest. "You have to eat healthy and nutritious food. I cook chicken soup, fish soup, pork rib soup, millet porridge and bowl soup," she said.
Jia also regularly cleans tables with disinfectant solution, cleans blankets and clothes with alcohol every day to make sure the house is free of viruses. "I take hot showers every night to kill germs and viruses on my body. Washing my hands with soap regularly is very important," she added.
Besides cleaning, ventilation is also essential. Sometimes she opened the window to let in the fresh air.
Jia insists to take only some common flu medicines, as well as some traditional Chinese remedies. She advises people to choose the right medication and consult a doctor before use.
It is also very important in Jia's plan to fight the virus that she always keeps a calm mind, maintains an optimistic, positive attitude. She is also at home to avoid infecting others, only sending new year wishes to her family through phone calls and videos.
Jia's efforts paid off. A CT scan of January 28 showed that her lungs had returned to normal, even though the test still had corona virus in her body. On February 3, a career review showed that she was negative for the virus. On February 9, Jia returned to the hospital to continue the battle on the front lines with a fresh and optimistic spirit.
Jia recorded the self-healing process with his Weibo social media posts, some of which received more than 300,000 likes. Her account attracted an additional 1.7 million followers after this war.
"My immune system is basically the same as everyone else. If I can overcome this and become healthier, I believe everyone's immune system can defeat this virus," Jia said. .
