On June 10, about 7 nautical miles south of Linh Con Island in Vietnam's Paracel Islands, QNg 96416 TS was hit by an iron train number 4006 and a Chinese canoe.
Some people from Chinese ships boarded Vietnamese fishing boats to pump water out and bring the fishermen back to the ships.
The Consular Department, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Vietnamese Embassy in Beijing exchanged with China on the same day, asserting Vietnam's sovereignty over the Paracel Islands, asking the Chinese side to investigate and verify information.
On 12/6, fishing vessel QNg 96416TS and all fishermen on board arrived safely at the mouth of Sa Ky, Quang Ngai province.
Vietnamese authorities are collecting and verifying information, clarifying the incident and will continue to take measures to communicate with the Chinese side to protect the sovereignty as well as the rights and legitimate interests of Vietnamese fishermen.
Previously, on April 2, fishing vessel QNg 90617 TS and 8 Vietnamese fishermen were operating in the area of Phu Lam Island, in the Hoang Sa archipelago of Vietnam, when it was prevented and sunk by Chinese maritime vessels.
