Trump said Joe Biden was "incompetent" in leading the country, while Democratic opponents were 15 percentage points ahead of him.
In an interview with Fox News on July 19, US President Donald Trump said if former Vice President Joe Biden was elected in November this year, he would "destroy this country".
Trump made a series of unfounded or speculative statements aimed at opponents, such as Biden will "triple tax" with the people and "cut the budget for the police".
"Religion will disappear," Trump said, referring to Democrats' banning the organization of major church services to prevent nCoV from spreading.
When interviewer Chris Wallace asked Trump if he thought Biden was too old for the presidency, he replied, "I don't want to say that. I just said he was incompetent to be president."
Trump expressed skepticism about Biden being able to pass the cognitive test that he asserted that he had "defeated" it.
Trump once again defended the way he responded to Covid-19, emphasizing "the world must be jealous of the United States" about the possibility of testing.
According to a poll conducted by the Washington Post and ABC last week, published on July 19, 55% of voters registered to support former Vice President Joe Biden while the percentage for Trump is 40%.
Trump's credit rating has dropped sharply over the past two months to 39%.
The decline in credibility is believed to be related to the way Americans judge his handling of Covid-19.
