The US president and his family will relocate from New York to Florida because of "bad treatment from city and state leaders."
"Palm Beach, Florida will become my permanent home and family. I appreciate New York and its people and always will. But unfortunately, despite the fact that I pay millions of dollars in taxes each year for cities, states and localities, I have been treated very badly by the political leaders here, "US President Donald Trump wrote on Twitter on October 31, adding that" few people have been treated worse than that. ".
According to the New York Times, Trump, a native of New York, and his wife Melania filed a personal residence declaration in September to change their main residence from Manhattan to Palm Beach. White House officials declined to say why Trump changed his main residence, but the New York Times quoted a source close to the President as saying it was mainly for tax purposes.
Besides the White House, the Trump family's main residence will now be their Mar-a-Lago resort, where Trump has spent the past 99 days staying since becoming President. At the same time, he was in Trump Tower, the former main residence, only 20 days.
"I hate to make this decision, but ultimately it will be best for everyone involved. New York will always have a special place in my heart," Trump added.
Since Trump became President, many protests have taken place outside Trump Tower. Earlier this month, a federal judge in southern New York county rejected the president's request to block access to his personal and business tax records for years.
