An additional 5,786 Covid-19 deaths were reported, bringing the total number of deaths during the pandemic to 1,154,278, out of a total of 42,912,914 people infected with the virus.

Iran is planning to impose new one-month restrictions, including for odd-day civil servants in the capital, Tehran, and to set different working hours for occupations to reduce crowding.

In Southeast Asia, Indonesia is the region's largest outbreak with 385,980 cases, an increase of 4,070 compared to the previous day, of which 13,205 died, an increase of 128 cases.

Jakarta started to impose restrictions to prevent nCoV in early April and then loosen it up in June. However, the number of new infections in the capital a few weeks later skyrocketed.

The Philippines reported 367,819 cases and 6,934 deaths, an increase of 2,057 and 19 cases, respectively.

Most businesses have been reopened since the end of the blockade on August 19 in Manila.
