South Korean prosecutors say former President Park Geun-hye needs to be sentenced to 35 years in prison on charges of corruption and abuse of power.
Park Geun-hye, 68, South Korea's first female president, was deposed in 2017. She was sentenced to 32 years in prison for accepting bribes, abusing power, violating election laws and embezzling money from the agency.
She is on trial again in the Seoul High Court after the Supreme Court ruled that allegations of bribery should be dealt with individually.
Park Geun-hye did not appear in the trial today.
Ms. Park and her close friend Choi Soon-sil are at the center of a bribe-accepting scandal from large corporations.
