China recorded 19 new cases of nCoV, the lowest level since the outbreak, bringing the country's total to 80,754.

China National Health Commission (NHC) today reported 19 new positive cases for nCoV, down sharply from 40 cases a day ago. This is also the lowest increase in new cases in China since the country began publishing data on Covid-19 on January 20.

Seventeen of the 19 new cases have been recorded in Wuhan, the Covid-19 epidemic, and the remaining two in Beijing and Guangdong are foreign tourists from the United Kingdom and Spain. Wuhan City also reported 16 of the 17 deaths due to nCoV yesterday, bringing the total number of deaths across mainland China to 3,136.

While the spread of the Covid-19 epidemic in China plummeted in the past week, officials are gradually worried about the risk of infection among people returning from current epidemic hotspots, such as Iran and Italy. Mainland China currently records 69 new cases of nCoV infection originating from abroad.

The Covid-19 epidemic originated in China and has been reported in 113 countries and territories, causing more than 114,000 people to be infected and more than 4,000 to die.

China currently records 80,754 cases of nCoV. In a press conference yesterday, the WHO said in cases in China, "more than 70% have recovered and discharged from the hospital".
