South Korea confirmed another 210 positive cases of nCoV this afternoon, bringing the total number of nationwide infections to 3,736.

The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) this afternoon announced that it had recorded 210 more positive cases of nCoV. Thus, only 586 new infections have been reported today, including 469 cases in Daegu City and 67 cases in North Gyeongsang Province, two major epidemic groups of the country.

Seoul also reported 10 more new infections, while Busan added three more. South Korea currently records 3,736 cases of nCoV, of which 30 have been cured and 14 in critical condition, 18 died.

The KCDC confirmed the 18th death case from nCoV was an 83 year old man in Daegu. The patient had previously had a stroke and high blood pressure. The number of infections in South Korea is expected to increase in the coming days, when health authorities test more than 210,000 Xinjiang Dia-believers.

Tan Thien Dia members account for more than 50% of all infections in Korea as of today. Health officials on Monday said about 3,000 Tan Thien Dia worshipers had symptoms of nCoV infection.

South Korean President Moon Jae-in today announced the government was "working hard" to stop the epidemic after raising the crisis warning to its highest level. "We will be able to overcome the Covid-19 outbreak and revive the affected economy," Moon said during the Independence Day celebration in Seoul.

The Covid-19 outbreak began in Wuhan, the capital of Hubei province in China in December, and has now appeared in 64 countries and territories. The epidemic has infected nearly 87,000 people, nearly 3,000 died worldwide.
