Videos released by South Korea show that the Korea-Korea Joint Liaison Office, which has four floors, collapsed with explosives.

The South Korean military released a black-and-white video this morning showing a panoramic view of the Inter-Korean Joint Liaison Office in the city of Kaesong on the Korean border.

"The building was completely destroyed at 1450 in a huge explosion," North Korean media reported.

The Inter-Korean Joint Liaison Office was built in the Kaesong Industrial Park in accordance with the Panmunjom Declaration signed by North Korean leader Kim Jong-un with South Korean President Moon Jae-in during a summit on April 27, 2018.

The office was closed on January 30 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The liaison office was destroyed just days after Kim Yo-jong, the North Korean leader's sister Kim Jong-un, said last week that the "useless" liaison office would soon "completely collapse".

An official at the Presidential Palace of South Korea called the decision to collapse North Korea's liaison office "an act of betraying the expectations of all those who wish to improve inter-Korean relations and establish peace on the peninsula.
