A bus carrying Muslim pilgrims crashed into a truck in Medina on October 16, killing 35 foreigners.

"The collision occurred between a contract bus and a heavy truck in the western city of Saudi Arabia," police spokesman Medina in Saudi Arabia said.

Local media posted a picture of the bus ablaze with completely broken glass windows. The victims of the accident were foreign pilgrims, mainly from Asia and Arab countries.

In addition to 35 people killed, 4 wounded are being transferred to Al-Hamna hospital and Saudi officials are conducting an investigation into the accident.

Medina is the administrative headquarters of Al Madinah, Saudi Arabia and is considered the second holy city of Islam, just after Mecca. The Islamic prophet Muhammad is buried in the center of this city.
