Trump proposed the US as a mediator for China and India as tensions on the border areas of the two countries are increasing.
"We have informed both India and China that the United States is willing, ready and able to reconcile or arbitrate a fierce border dispute between them," President Trump said on Twitter today.
At least two skirmishes between the Sino-Indian border took place in early May in Ladakh and at the Naku La pass linking India's Sikkim with Tibet of China, injuring many soldiers on both sides.
The clashes came after India began opening a road near Lake Pangong Tso in dispute with China in Ladakh.
Indian media reported that the Chinese military had set up another 100 field tents near Lake Pangon Tso and the Galwan valley along the Line of Reality Control (LAC) in the Ladakh region, while deploying a variety of capable military vehicles.
