Hangzhou, China temporarily banned the sale of flu and cough medicines to force people to see doctors in an effort to detect the corona virus.
In a statement released Monday and effective immediately, the city of Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang province, eastern China, said the policy was implemented in pharmacies to "strengthen monitor people with symptoms of fever and cough ".

The Hangzhou government's decision is part of a series of increasingly stringent measures by China to control the acute pneumonia epidemic caused by a new strain of corona virus (nCoV), including blockade in many localities, restrictions on travel, and avoiding convergence. gather people and keep track of people who might be sick.
Many cities in Zhejiang province, including some areas in Hangzhou, have set limits on the frequency of people leaving homes. Only one family member is allowed to go out every two days, must use a government-issued ticket or a personal identification scan code.
Zhejiang is the second-largest province to record nCoV infections in China after Hubei. More than 100,000 people live in Wuhan, where the outbreak originated, coming from the Wenzhou city of Zhejiang and many brought the germs back home during the Chinese New Year.
This situation makes people increasingly afraid of suspected nCoV infection. Some people also complain that blockade areas do not have many measures to isolate patients from asymptomatic people but from an outbreak.
Many opinions also wonder what people with chronic illnesses would have to do without medication to relieve symptoms. Others are even worried that the policy could spread the virus more quickly because many people are forced to go to hospitals where nCoV patients are infected.
Epidemic pneumonia caused by nCoV started in Wuhan in December, then spread to more than 30 provinces of China and 26 countries and territories around the world. The current death toll is 813 with more than 37,500 cases.
