Just a day after the Secretary of the Treasury's announcement, the Americans began to see a second Covid-19 payout being deposited into the account.
On the evening of December 29, while out to watch Christmas with his family, Mike Molitoris, a property manager in Cary, North Carolina, listened to the radio news that money would be sent to people via online mail.
The next morning, Molitoris checked and found the pending funds in her account and can be used from January 4.
"I'm really shocked," Molitoris said, adding that the amount includes the entire allowance for both him, his wife and three young children.
Molitoris may be one of the first to receive money from the second US government bailout.
The Molitoris family plans to dedicate part of the proceeds to helping others, as this year has been relatively okay for them.
"There are obviously a lot of people in trouble, so we try to help some charities because they need it," Molitoris said.
You can also use part of the money to boost the local economy.
If you have extra money left, Molitoris will save on health care costs.
The US $ 900 billion Covid-19 bailout package, aimed at supporting the people due to the Covid-19 epidemic, was passed by the US Congress on December 21 and signed by President Donald Trump on December 27, after a few days of delay.
The second aid is expected to help families and individuals in need pay for essential needs such as rent, utilities and food.
Individuals earning more than $ 75,000 but less than $ 87,000 will receive an amount less than $ 600, while people earning over $ 87,000 will receive nothing.
However, some people expressed disappointment that the amount this time was only half the amount provided in March.
