Matt Baish, a teacher at Waterloo High School in Iowa, had to resign from his job in response to a negative comment about Greta Thunberg.

In an article shared by Little Village magazine on Facebook on October 3, the information about child environmental activist Greta Thunberg coming to Iowa, Baish teacher commented: "Unfortunately I do not have a rifle. sniper".

Baish's comments have been met with an angry reaction on social media and led the Waterloo police department to investigate. The school initially said that Baish had taken leave, but later announced he had quit.

"Waterloo staff asked for a leave of absence because a social networking post quit immediately," a school spokesman said. "The school and the district are working to ensure classroom instruction is not affected by this teacher 's departure."

Currently, comments and Facebook accounts of Baish, a 25-year-old teacher in the profession, have been deleted.

Thunberg, a Swedish 16-year-old environmental activist, was famous in the world for a year when attracting millions of people to participate in anti-climate protests in many countries. She recently became the target of some conservative commentators. US President Donald Trump also once mocked Thunberg.
