Syrian President al-Assad said his forces would resist Turkey's invasion by all legal means.

"We will respond and confront in any form, anywhere in Syria, using legitimate measures according to our layout," Syrian President Bashar al-Assad told the National Security Advisor. Faleh al-Fayad in Damascus today in Damascus, referring to Turkey's military operation in northern Syria.

Turkey on October 9 launched the Spring Peace military campaign after the US withdrew from the region. Turkey's campaign is aimed at the position of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) with the core of the Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG), which Ankara considers terrorist.

Syria on October 13 signed an agreement with Kurdish forces to deploy troops to the northeast, including the key areas of Manbij and Kobane, to deal with Turkish forces. This is the largest deployment by the Syrian army since it began withdrawing large-scale troops from the region in 2012.

The convoy armed with machine guns and soldiers carrying the Syrian flag on the morning of October 14 took over the town of Tel Tamer near the Turkish border. Tel Tamer is located on the M4 motorway, just 35 km southeast of the city of Ras al-Ain, the focal point of Turkey's attack.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that since Turkey launched the campaign, dozens of civilians have been killed and more than 300,000 people have been evacuated. The campaign also raised concerns that IS might take advantage of the chaos to rise after the failure of the beginning of the year.
