Covid-19's death rate per capita is Sweden's highest in Europe in the past 7 days, when the country pursued "community immunity".

From May 12 to 19, Sweden recorded a daily death rate of 6.25 million per day, making it the country with the highest per capita death rate in Europe, according to Ourworldinsata.

Sweden, a Nordic country with more than 10 million people, has reported nearly 31,000 infections and more than 3,700 deaths from Covid-19.

On May 18, the Swedish Statistical Office said that the country recorded 10,458 deaths in April, the highest level since December 1993, when there were many unusual flu outbreaks that killed more than 11,000.

In the war with Covid-19, Sweden chose for itself a soft anti-epidemic strategy, not imposed drastically blockade orders like most other countries.

Swedish officials said it would increase testing to detect people infected with nCoV.

In mid-April, the country's health authorities set a goal of testing 100,000 people a day but have yet to achieve it.
