After Trump became infected with nCoV, all officials in his administration should be vaccinated with the Russian Sputnik V vaccine, Gintsburg said.

"I think they will discuss this with the US President. By the way, it would be great if he gets the Russian vaccine!", Gintsburg added.

The Gamaleya Institute is the site of the development of Sputnik V, the world's first registered Covid-19 vaccine, praised by Russian President Vladimir Putin for creating a "sustainable immune system".

Russian news agency Interfax said Putin sent a telegram to wish Trump a quick recovery.

Many world leaders also sent their best wishes after hearing that Trump was infected with nCoV, such as British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi, President of the European Council Charles Michel, WHO Director Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.

Trump and his wife Melania received positive nCoV results after the US President's close aide Hope Hicks was found to be infected with the virus.

Trump, 74 years old, has no underlying medical condition, despite being slightly obese.
