Russia approves Sputnik V vaccination for people over 60 starting from the new year 2021.
The Ministry of Health of Russia today confirmed that the Sputnik V vaccine is about to be used for people over 60 years old, the media reported.
"Tests on the age group 60 and over have been completed and as soon as the New Year, unlimited and unrestricted licenses for individuals 18 years and older will be officially included in the registration certificate.
Russia began rolling out the Sputnik V vaccination as part of its national vaccination program in early December, focusing on the high-risk group, while phase three testing continued in the capital.
Sputnik V was approved on August 11, becoming the first Covid-19 vaccine in the world to be approved, although the human trials have not yet completed.
Two doses of Sputnik V are expected to cost less than $ 10 on the international market, and are given free of charge to Russian citizens.
