Pumpkin grown in Andy Corbi's backyard in Cheyenne city broke the Wyoming state record when it weighed 676 kg.
Andy Corbi said he had to use a rickshaw to move his pumpkins because they were both very large and heavy, local media reported on October 17. Scientists say Mr. Corbi's pumpkin weighs even more than newborn elephants because their average weight is only 91 kg.
Weighing in at 676 kg, Corbi's newly harvested pumpkin has set a new record in the state of Wyoming. He said he has to take care of the pumpkin garden all year round and the pumpkins can grow many kilograms a day during the growing season.
Corbin hopes to grow three pumpkins weighing more than 1,800 kg.
