A Philippine police chief died in an illegal cockfight after being cut off a femoral artery by a blade at a rooster's leg.

The accident happened on October 26 in the town of San Jose, North Samar province, central Philippines when Lieutenant Christian Bolok picked up a game cock as evidence of illegal cockfighting.

The 38-year-old lieutenant was taken to the Catarman city hospital, but doctors said he died from blood loss.
