France: Mr. Alain Cocq, 57, who was denied the right to death by President Macron, accepted palliative care after 3 days of not eating, drinking or treatment.
"I'm sorry but I need some peace of mind to die peacefully," Cocq, who has a rare genetic condition that causes the artery walls to stick together, said lawyer Sophie Medjeberg, spokeswoman.
Ms. Medjeberg said Cocq was hospitalized on September 7.
The female lawyer did not know if the doctor would give him a sedative to put Cocq in a deep coma that could not regain consciousness or would return him home with a palliative care device to ease his pain.
The main hospital in the city of Dijon, northeastern France, where Cocq is located, was not available to comment.
According to Medjeberg, Cocq is delirious, foamy in the mouth and blood in the stool.
Cocq on September 5 announced that he did not eat, drink and take medicine after being denied the right to leave lightly by French President Emmanuel Macron due to a fatal illness that could not be cured.
Cocq says his illness has been in "terminal stage" for the past 34 years.
To draw attention to end-stage patients who cannot die according to wishes in France, Cocq plans to stream pictures of his farewell.
