Covid-19 appeared in 157 countries and territories, leaving more than 169,000 people infected and nearly 6,500 dead.
The epidemic continues to spread and complicate worldwide, with 12,701 new cases of nCoV infection, bringing the total number of infected people to 169,354, of which 76,618 have recovered.
New cases are concentrated in hot spots in Europe such as Italy, Spain, Germany, France, and the UK. Italy detected an additional 3,590 cases, bringing the total number of people positive for nCoV to 24,747. Spain, Iran and Germany are all countries reporting new cases of more than 1,000.
The number of new cases in China and South Korea is low, indicating that the epidemic situation in these countries has cooled down, however, Malaysia has recorded new cases of nCoV increased sharply by 190, to 428 cases, most are all related to an event in a mosque near Kuala Lumpur with about 16,000 people attending.
An additional 666 deaths from nCoV worldwide, concentrated primarily in Italy, Iran, and Spain, bringing the total global deaths to 6,499.
Italy recorded 368 new deaths, bringing the total number of deaths from nCoV in the country to 1,809, with a mortality rate of 7.3%. Iran reported 113 more deaths, 724 deaths and 5.2%. This ratio in both Iran and Italy is higher than the world average of 3.84%.
In the US, 3,590 people were infected with nCoV, 68 died and 59 recovered.
Covid-19 has appeared in 157 countries and territories. The Central African Republic and the Congo were the first to report nCoV infections yesterday and today.
